Brother Andrew: Smuggling Bibles behind the Iron Curtain

Brother Andrew (1928-2022) was a young man in Holland when he sensed God calling him to become a missionary. A trip to Poland showed him firsthand the needs of the Church in countries behind the Iron Curtain, and Andrew realized that was where God wanted him to minister. This was a dangerous task during a time when the Communist party ruled much of eastern Europe and sought to suppress the Church.

As Andrew smuggled Bibles and other materials to Christians in Communist countries, he faced continual danger and learned to rely on God for protection. Brother Andrew’s story is one of courage, adventure, and provision from God. Discover how “God’s smuggler” risked everything to obey God’s call to support Christians behind the Iron Curtain.
